I liked this book OK. It feels cutesy, Like how I felt about the Pretty Little Liars books. And maybe that's because the voice of the narrator Sounded like a teenage girl but I just didn't feel like I could take this book seriously as a thriller or a mystery. I did like the story line though and I am curious to see what the remaining books in the series could possibly be about because this book felt like it could have been a stand alone.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. I'd seen that it had great reviews, so I figured I'd check it out.

Boy, am I glad I did. This book is awesome.
The writing is really good. There are several intertwined plot lines, but it's written so well that it doesn't get confusing. The book kept my heart pounding while I was reading. I just HAD to know what happens next.

The characters are really well developed, the writing is great. It's an all around awesome read.

I love this series and am going to dive into the remaining books very soon.

The writing is great, the story develops perfectly to keep you at the edge of your seat. You can't help but love the Black Stiletto for what she does, even as you empathize with her son, now grown, just discovering her secret. Your heart breaks at her current state, in a seniors home and unable to talk to her son about her past.

it's a very well crafted series and well worth the read.

The Fourth book of the series, and unfortunately the second last.

Just as great as the others, the story deepens and gets a few new layers. The Black Stiletto is now in LA, and living a very different life than in New York.

No less action packed, but deeper as secrets start to be revealed and questions start to get answers.

Love this series

So sad that this series ends. I loved every book, but this one was special. Maybe because I knew it was the last one, maybe because it ties all the other ones together and finally answers all the questions that have developed over time.

Filled with suspense, action, sadness, joy and love. This series has it all, and this book is the crowning glory.

This was a fun, quick read that was hard to put down, and left me wanting more. The writing is a bit amateurish at times, but Benson does a good job of capturing the voices of his multiple narrators, and makes up for any shortcomings with a fast-paced, engaging plot.

There are several unanswered questions at the end though. Set-up for a sequel, methinks! I'll definitely read it.

I loved the vigilante idea of the story and the basic premise was sound. I also liked the idea of telling the story via a diary format. However, the actual writing was rather clumsy and poor. The author tried to make each main character have his/her own style, but the instruments used to do this were clumsy. Adding lots of "hahas" to one character....dropping the g's from another character (gonna instead of going), etc. Also, one of the main characters, who I assume we're supposed to like (the son of the protagonist) I really found to be...unlikable. Can't say more without giving away spoilers, but the author didn't develop that character well enough in my opinion.

So, overall, great idea with poor execution. Lastly, there are a ton of plot lines that are not tied up in this book. Perhaps the author is planning a sequel. Perhaps he just wanted to appear artistic and "leave the reader thinking". I dunno. I found it annoying, personally.

(2.5) You get what you pay for. I need to stop expecting books that are really cheap on Kindle to be good, no matter how interesting the plot. I always go on a big Batman kick after seeing the movies in theaters so when I stumbled on this tale of a woman becoming a masked vigilante, I thought it would be a good read. It was a fun read...not necessarily a good one. Benson has little idea how to write for a female protagonist and too much of what he did was rushed and underdeveloped. Still...I could not but help turning the pages to see what would happen next. And as much as I'll probably hate myself, I'm really curious to see what happens in the sequels. Reading this book is like eating at McDonald's, you know it's bad for you and you don't wanna brag about it but sometimes, you just need to get your hands on a Double Cheeseburger.
