Mixed bag, this book. Biggest strength is that Ms Marple is present through the story. Thank god she is, bc it's never really a fun time when Agatha Christie talks about POC lmao. Surprisingly tame and even-handed look at mental illnesses.
I knew they weren't going to end up together, but it was fantastic to see someone who believes in Marple's sharp wit and allied with her. I hope he (no spoilers) shows up again.

The story itself is decent, though certainly not Christie’s best. The racism, though? Definitely not the vibe.
Moderate: Racism and Murder
Minor: Ableism, Infidelity, Mental illness, Misogyny, Toxic relationship, and Suicide attempt
