This graphic novel had a seriously GORGEOUS art style, one of the prettiest I’ve ever read. The panel composition was also spot on. In terms of plot/character, it was really therapeutic watching Willow learn how to manage her emotions.

There were three things I didn’t like that bumped down my rating. The first is that this book is aimed at kids, though the way emotions are depicted for most of the book is a little abstract, so I think a MG audience would be more suitable. Secondly, I didn’t like the impression it gave that some emotions are good and some are bad. Finally, the composition and narrative did come to be a little repetitive.

i loved this and i would absolutely buy it if i had a kid or if my younger siblings were younger than they are because it teaches about how to process trauma and grief and bullying in a healthy way whilst demonstrating how beautiful and interesting nature is.
