Really enjoyed it! It was heavier on the actual chess than I was expecting and I was really hoping to get to see more at the end. Not my favorite Ali Hazelwood, but still really liked it!

Wat was dit een ontzettend cute boek. De hele wereld van het schaken, wat voor mij totaal onbekend is, de slow-burn romance, het verhaal achter alles wat er gebeurt. Het klopte gewoon allemaal.
Toch miste ik de diepgang in de relatie die ontstond tussen Mallory en Nolan. Dat had voor mij nog wel wat beter gemogen.
Maar al met al heb ik echt onwijs genoten van dit boek, vloog ik er doorheen en wilde ik niet stoppen met lezen.

How is this considered young adult??

The FMC has the emotional maturity of a young adult, but the MMC is pretty much fully formed. These actually don’t seem like two people who should be together right now - she needs to grow up a little more.

It was super cute and I read most of it in a night. Needed a rest from dense books.

3.5 . This was cute but I have once again been duped into reading a YA book. Also the ending mega sucked. Like it felt very unfinished to me. I wish she would have done another 100 pages. Then it would have been so much better
