I didn't love this one. I had high expectations with the hype around John Green, but I was left feeling meh about this story. I think it brings up important topics like mental health, trauma, and substance use, however it didn't feel like there was much more to it than bringing up the topics. I don't hate that I read this one, but I don't think it will be a go-to for recommendations.

“You never know what someone is going through. Be kind. Always.” - is the quote that best describes this book for me.

Every character, every flaw, all the differences between them, their childhood & every struggle they went through makes it real. Someone in our world is one of these characters. You’ll just never know who.

re-reading this as an adult, it’s very easy to say that it was meant for the young teenage version of myself. good book overall, with an important message. john green really likes to write unreliable narrators, which makes for a interesting dynamic between the reader and the book.

Loved this book so much, the description and how Alaska seemed real to me. Pudge is kinda annoying and sees Alaska and Lara how they hate women to be percieced and hes also a bit selfish but overall a good character. Love how the ending was open to interpretation of whether Alaska committed suicide or if it was an accident and ome of my all time favourite parts was when the colonel and pudge went to where the crash was.

I liked this book a lot and will hopefully re-read it soon and annotate it. It is the perfect mix of coming of age and still not too cliché.

I loved this book, although
Spoiler it does have a sex scene that may be uncomfortable to some readers
