A beautiful story about teenage love and longing (plus how it's possible to be friends with your exes). Totally going to read the sequel if I get chance!

After a meet-cute in a postal office, New York teen Ben and summer intern Arthur do whatever it takes to find the other to see what could be. This book focuses a lot on the concept of 'What If'; and it was cute at first but I felt like the plot was drawn out a lot and felt like the romance was forced, I didn't really get a strong connection from our two main characters. If anything, I was more interested in the side-characters and their love life.
On one hand we have Arthur who tries too hard to make things work, while Ben isn't trying hard enough - the two of them have to re-do their first date multiple times until they get it right. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I believe that if things don't go well the first few times maybe it's better off just to be friends. I appreciated the ton of Hamilton references and the endless Broadway talk - this book paints NYC so well, that is made me feel like I was there as I was reading.
I really liked the epilogue to see where Ben and Arthur ended up, I think it paints a path that will lead up to the sequel. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out and if we get more closure than in the first book.

A really fun read! I really enjoyed the way the story was told and absolutely loved the characters. The beginning was pretty slow, which turned me off at first, but once the 2nd part started I was fully in love with story. I was really happy there was an epilogue and I actually didn't mind the open-ended ending.
