A tight collection of previous published essays, speeches, and interviews from playwright, actor, and artist Wallace Shawn. The first part of the collection deals with real-world issues in the late 20th century and part two turns to the philosophical in art and artistic pursuits. Surprisingly, I thought the first part was stronger than the second.

It's been nice branching out this year from my usual reading types. I saw that Wallace Shawn was a famous playwright and essayist and I sadly had only known him from his acting roles. Some of these essays were fantastic, others were more meh. But I got some interesting thoughts out of reading all of them, and that made me want to read or see his plays. So that's on the to read pile now.

A very quick, breezy read, with a great many quotable lines. The questions are here, but the reader has to come up with the answers herself.
