I've read a lot of books by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, but this was one of my favorites! Happily Letter After is about Sadie Bisset, a journalist who runs a Holiday Wishes column at her magazine. When she receives a letter from a ten (and a half) year old girl, Birdie, who reminds her of herself, she takes it upon herself to fulfill her wishes. One thing leads to another and she ends up becoming invested in Birdie's life. Into this story comes her father, Sebastian Maxwell.

When they meet for the first time, a bunch of mistaken assumptions lead to a whirlwind of events that eventually pulls them together. The whole book is built on fate and destiny. It makes you believe that everything happens for a reason. At one point in the book, someone utters the statement, "When two people are meant to be together, God makes it happen." I think that sums up the main theme of this book!

What I loved about it was that once Sadie and Sebastian fell in love, they did it completely and thoroughly. They trusted each other and they respected each other, with no doubt over their feelings for one another. It's the kind of love that makes you believe in fairytales and happy endings.

Birdie was a great character who definitely made everything better! She's the kind of person you'd hate to disappoint because everything about her just screams joy and happiness! I also really liked Sadie's coworker/best friend, Devin who was a really good addition to the book.

I expected this book to be like most romance novels and follow a really predictable format, but this book kept surprising me! There were so many things that happened that I never expected when I started it. I'd definitely recommend it to any romance lover out there! Sure it has it's darker moments, but above all, this book is about love and fate, and it is sure to put a smile on your face!

I think this is the first healthy relationship I seen in this type of book. This book actually makes me think there’s a thing such as fate but then again that could just be fictional writing. I definitely recommend.

"im very picky about my Chinese food. its probably because im part Chinese"
....
"Four percent. I did one of those 23andMe DNA test to find out my heritage two years ago, since im adopted. Im sixty percent Italian, thirty six percent Norwegian, and four percent Chinese. Ever since i found that out, i feel like i got better with chopsticks"

This was such a sweet, cute book. I really loved the characters, it was easy and quick to read and I also loved that there was no drama. Sometimes you just want to read a book that has such a happy, uplifting tone and this book was that. I never felt frustrated with the characters like I do with some, or their lack of communication etc. This book was fairly straightforward. Sadie knew what she wanted and she went after it. Sebastian resisted a little bit but it was overdrawn. And little Birdie was just adorable; she too knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to ask for it. Overall it was just a nice light read that I really enjoyed.
