This was the Green book I was most embarrassed to read, and so naturally it's the one I chose to read in public and take with me to the airport on my way home for, well, what do you know, Christmas.

The first oddity about this is that Let it Snow is marketed as a book by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle, but the order of stories goes Johnson, Green, Myracle, and I suppose there was some publicity terms agreed upon by the publisher to make this a thing. As a lot of old reviews have agreed, the stories get progressively more average, but to be quite honest I found all of them to have some level of "cute" that was tolerable if not downright warm and fuzzy, even for me who isn't quite so concerned about relationships these days as I am about the structure of contemporary YA fiction.

Some flash impressions:

The first story is "The Jubilee Express" by Johnson, and it's a solid mixture of original, quirky, and cute. It was the most classically "serendipitous love story" of the three. I have nothing more to say about it.

The second story is "A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle" by Green, and the title alone put me off, but I enjoyed the story immensely. Green is often criticized for writing the same exact character, and the criticism is well deserved, but the "midnight adventure" premise of the story was highly appealing to me because it reminded me of exactly the sort of stupid shit my friends and I would do to meet some girls. The romance was sort of cliché, but it was cute.

The final story is "The Patron Saint of Pigs" by Myracle. I feel like Ms. Myracle pulled the short straw here, because her story carried the burden of tying this and the other two together, as
Spoilerall the characters from the different stories do end up intertwining in the end
. That aside, The Patron Saint of Pigs had the least likable protagonist, probably on purpose, because she is dominated by her insecurities and is full of self-pity. That said, I think the final story meets undue criticism because, like I said, the purpose of the story seems to rely less on developing it's own romance and more on giving readers satisfying conclusions to the prior two. It does it well.

Overall I sort of hate to admit that I liked this. Maybe it's just because it's a cute holiday romance book and I'm reading it during the holidays when things aren't all that cute. But hey, make your own judgments. Like I said in my "Katherines" review, I often wonder if anyone bothers reading these books anymore anyway.

Also, I have zero interest in watching the Netflix adaptation. No thanks.

I LOOOVE THIS BOOK!! It's the second time I've read it and it's been almost two years since last. And I remember LOVING it the first time. I have wanted to re-read it since November, all because of the movie(!!!!). I was afraid I wouldn't find it as good as I did the first time, but oh was I wrong.

Let it snow, written by Maureen Johnson, John Green and Lauren Myracle is a three part book that unfolds during the christmas holidays.

The first part called The Jubilee express, written by Maureen Johnson, is about Jubilee, a teenage girl who after changed plans are going to her grandparents last minute. But things don't quite work out since the snowstorm, the worst in 50 years, stops the train. We get to follow her as she meets Stuart at the Waffle house and begins her journey, but perhaps not one she planned on.

In the second part called A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle , written by John Green, we get to follow Tobin, JB and The duke(real name Angie). They are having a James Bond marathon when a friend calls and tells them to get their asses to the Waffle House since there is a whole team of cheerleaders doing splits on the counter. So they drop everything in their way and goes on a race through the snowstorm. A real adventure.

In the third and last part called The Patron Saint of Pigs, written by Lauren Myracle, Addie is heartbroken and really selfish, according to her friends Dorrie and Tegan. While trying to prove them wrong she promises Tegan to pick up her new mini-pig. Unfortunately it wasn't as easy as she thought it would be but perhaps a Christmas Angel will come to her rescue?

God I love this book. The adventures, the characters, the plot and the writing! I can promise you it NEVER gets boring.

The Jubilee Express, a lot about relationships and heartbreak. About new beginnings and turning out where you least expected too, it is a really loving story. And I loved it, it was funny, witty, emotional and fantastic!

A Cheertastic Christmas Miracle is so funny and honestly a real adventure with turns you don't expect. Prepare yourself for laughter and big smiles because this story really delivers it!

The Patron Saints of Pigs I at first did not like, only because everyone constantly tells Addie how self-absorbed she is. But as the story goes on it is lovely to read, full of hidden messages and meanings you can't help but smile at. The ending is the most special part of the book and it brings everything together in the most beautiful way.

If you are in the mood for a Christmas miracle or just a book you can't put away I honestly recommend EVERYONE to read this book. It was my favourite book two years ago and it still is. (Only one thing I can't help but not mention, STOP only recognising John Green for this book!!! He is NOT the only writer..) Friendships, relationships, highschool drama and adventures you can't help but dream of doing, this book has it all.

READ IT!!!

Glad I finally read this book. I found it heart warming and a light easy read for the winter. Using the different authors was a unique take on storytelling. In some ways it felt like three separate stories even though they do intertwine.

I only read this because of John Green, I’m going to be honest.. and tbh now I know why this book sat on my shelf for many years before I decided to pick it up. this was so boring and I didn’t care for the characters or any of the stories. 2/5 ⭐️
