holy shit. this was made me for me. so bleak but somehow still hopeful in all of it. the writing style lends itself so well to the content. straightforward and bare like the world it contains. the day will come when you won’t be glad you survived. and then you will keep surviving.

I don't know if I can finish this book...it's beautifully written and yes, I love the father/son dynamic but wow, it's depressing as hell. I've had some very scary dreams because of it!

I had to take it back to the library...maybe I'll pick it up another time.
