I love Brené Brown's work. Especially her book Daring Greatly had a big impact on me when I read it in my mid 20s. Where Daring Greatly emphasises the importance of vulnerability to forge deep connections, this book expands on that idea by looking at the idea of true belonging vs fitting in. I felt like there wasn't a lot of new information or insights in this book when you've already read a couple of her books, but it was a nice, quick and hopeful read.

I enjoy listening the audio books--they are like one long inspirational and helpful tedtalk.

As someone claims to be very tolerant and empathetic I still found this book challenging at points and learned a lot. Brown is so wise and an excellent teacher.

Great book overall, Brené is a phenomenal storyteller and I loved all of the stories from her own life that she used as examples as she explained what she had found in her own research about the courage to stand alone and what it means to truly belong. A quick read that challenges you to think about how you relate to people in your own life without losing yourself in the process.

Brene’s books always seem to find me when I most need them. She writes with such openness and conviction that it’s impossible not to listen. As a recovering perfectionist, this book spoke deeply to me. I’m hopeful that, after a few more readings, I’ll be able to take more of this to heart.
