Definitely suffers from having been split into two books, and most of the best parts being left for Blood and Gold, but it's still ASOIAF and it still slaps.

....that ending tho...
4.75 stars
Tho the thing that I can't give this 5/5 stars makes me sad. The second haf of this book was mind blowing like it was so good i loved all the chapters, all the characters got more individuality and struggles and there were some of my favorite characters from the show and then there were this scenes that kept me on the edge of my seat... It was really good. Just that alone would've been one of my favorites books this year, but then the first half....

So, for me the second book didn't do much. Like yes I love Renly with all my heart and I was living for the chapters in which he featured, but that was all. Same with the first half of this. I cared so less about Jon, Bran and Sam. First, Bran's chapters hadn't change at all. Second, Jonwas such a cry baby and repetitive. And last but not least, Sam in the book was not as interesting as in the TV show. Apart from these, the other chapters were likeable, but nothing outstanding and not gonna lie I had big expectations from this after the second book fell on the meh side.

BUT
The second half, somehow all plots became interesting. And so much happen. And all characters showed feeling and they were not so distant and cold. There was the red wedding and Robb and Catelyn died. There was Daenerys winning cities over. There was Stannis Baratheon who really became a character I like because he is so different from the rest. There was this war with the ones behind the wall and some white walkers. There were some mysterious features. Jamie was so interesting to follow and he was so real in his pain and misery. Arya grew. We reached Erye with Sansa and Petyr who saved her from the wedding where Olenna pisoned Joffrey. The writing style became more gripping. Oberyn appeared which i also loved and his dead but house Martell has a future in the next books. Tywin was killed finally. SO MUCH. Like that's the epic fantasy politic rich dramatic dangerous series i signed up for and this really provided me with all. I mean i found myself thinking about it 2 days after i finished it.

Conclusion
I do not have big expectations from [b:A Feast for Crows|13497|A Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire, #4)|George R.R. Martin|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1429538615l/13497._SY75_.jpg|1019062], as I saw it has so few povs and as so much has happened already. I have astronomically big expectations from [b:A Dance with Dragons|10664113|A Dance with Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5)|George R.R. Martin|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1581625286l/10664113._SY75_.jpg|2936175]. I highly recommend this ride. I was scared going into this as it's the longest book I've ever read and I also challenged myself to read it faster than my other big books so I take some pride for that as well. Complex, magical, eerie, heartbreaking at times, but on the slow side at the beginning so be prepared, but all in all all the journey from the end of the first book until the end of the first half was worthy for what came next. Really cool and unique
