This book had great world building and a great integration of a ton of mythical creatures! It read quickly and had an interesting plot! My only qualm was that the story seemed to jump from idea to idea and left me wanting more. I hope future installments expand further on the plot holes from the first.

I had mixed feelings about this one. I always love Black witches and I really enjoyed seeing so many paranormal identities like vampires, werewolves, fae, etc. I also thought it had a good story and really good pacing. It started out good and never got boring. But what I didn’t like was the characters! I hated 2 out of 3 sisters, and the other sister I just felt very indifferent about. They were all so immature. None of them acted 25. I would’ve thought that this was a young adult novel if not for all the graphic sex scenes😂 And I didn’t care about any of the love interests/side characters either. There was also a subplot that made me uncomfortable. There were romantic feelings between one of the sisters and an immortal who she refers to as an ancestor. I REALLY hope and pray that she doesn’t mean the he is HER ancestor because I don’t care how old he is, it’s still very nasty to sleep with a descendant of his family. I hope ancestor was just used as a term of respect, similar to the word elder, and that it was not a familial romance.

I think I’ll give book 2 a chance because I like the way this book ended and would like to know where the story goes. And I’ll hope for better character development🤞🏽 Also since I liked the writing style, I will be picking up more books by the author! I already want a few of her other books👀
