A little darker than the first one, with the whole corrupt pack angle. But Juliet and her Alphas were good together. The whole crash and stuck in a storm thing reminded me a bit of Three Swedish Mountain Men (in terms of tropes). Juliet was a solid FMC, and it was nice to see a nod to the previous boom with Miles.

cute!!! x3 because the guys in this book are so wonderful (although everett scares me a bit but i’m willing to overlook it)
anything that had to do with taylor made me tear up. it’s rare in an ov book to have a mate die, let alone a mate die before you know them, and having to grapple with that grief. i think that was a really wonderful aspect to include in this book.

yes things are wrapped up quickly and the whole stealth operation and escape are a bit amateur, but this was the perfect book to get me out of my reading slump.

An enjoyable omegaverse read, though I found myself wishing it had been drawn out over the course of two or even three books.

That said, if you don't mind insta-love, you will likely enjoy this book. I am just more of a fan of a slow burn. That plus certain plot elements felt a little too neatly wrapped up -- there was a rather big plot element where
Juliet is promised to a different pack and that pack just so happens to be corrupt and also responsible for the death of someone in the pack she finds herself falling in love with.

I couldn't help but see a lot of potential to draw that bit of the story out a little longer.
When Juliet goes to the promised pack to find evidence, that entire section just wrapped up a little to deux ex machina. Like it was over with in a chapter and suddenly the big bad is behind bars. But if that pack was as powerful as everyone said (and it was harped on a lot throughout the book), then bringing them to justice should have taken longer.
Again, I would have loved to see things unfold over the course of two or three books...not only would it have allowed the plot to develop a little more, but it would give more time for deeper feelings between Juliet and the others vs the insta-love we got.

Still, this book was enjoyable and I wouldn't mind reading more from the author.

I'm mostly glad that she got out of that compound okay. I figured she would with the low amount of pages left, but you never know!!!

This book was great, but something feels unresolved for me. Did they ever go back and look after it warmed up to see if her suitcase with her mother’s blanket survived the crash?! I need to know!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this book as much as I loved the first one in the series. I wasn't sure I was going to like juilet at first. She seemed like she was too submissive and would stick up for herself at all. She ended up being my absolute favourite, and Dean, Huck, and Everett were equally amazing. Dean was my favourite, though. Victor was a giant asshole and I wanted to blow the whole Williams pack to smithereens. I can't wait until the next book, I need it like yesterday.
