Definitely a lot of twists and turns that kept me interested but I don't think I'll remember this book much now that I've finished it.
Moderate: Miscarriage

A good book which I finished in 2 days because I wanted to know what was going to happen! It has an unexpected twist and a was also a wee bit creepy at times!!! Haha!
I was a wee bit disappointed with the ending but still give it 4 stars.

I listened to this as an audiobook following a recommendation in a book club but it just didn't work for me.
I managed to chug through it over a few weeks (this is a long time for me) because it was background noise, but I have a feeling if I'd been reading it then I'd have given up.
The plot was super slow, and though it was evidently building to something it took too long to get there to maintain my interest.
The two narrative voices should have been a good twist - and to be fair it was okay - but the two characters had exactly the same tone, thoughts, feelings, reactions etc. You couldn't tell them apart and yet they were described as totally different personalities. It just didn't ring true and made it feel clumsy. It didn't help that they were both totally wet blankets and I didn't like either of them.
I also felt that for me the writing was bit writing-by-numbers. In that I kind of knew what the author was going to say or describe and how. Not exactly but generally. It felt simple. I don't know how to describe it. It was also repetitive with cycles of Libby worrying Jamie was cheating and then something happening and the cycle starting again. It was boring reading. Or listening in this case.
I'm probably in the minority with this rating but that's my thoughts.

I picked this one up at work while I was bored and thought I’m going to hate this but I was bored so I kept reading it and obviously when it comes to mystery thrillers once you start to get into it you need to find out the ending even if it’s predictable or over the top. So here we are. I finished it and it’s a three star read. Not super bad but also not great too. Sure there were twists, but I just thought the storyline was a little bit over the top.
