This is a brick--very heavy, very full of info. Companion to the Ken Burns documentary, it's delightful. Took me ages to read--this isn't a book to read in bed. Glad I stuck with it, though, as I loved it. Wonderful illustrations throughout. If you love baseball and its history, do yourself a favor and read this.

Listened to the audiobook on the way from NY to STL. It was overall enjoyable and I learned a lot, but the content was a bit too uneven for me. Probably better to digest it as the documentary, which I haven't seen.
