I really enjoyed this book. War novels aren't my typical cup of tea, but I enjoyed the way that Vonnegut played with the structure of the novel to emphasize the absurdity of his topic. I appreciated his creativity, as well, and his being unafraid of pushing bounds into the truly ridiculous in a novel covering a very serious topic. It was a short and snappy read that really kept you on your toes and rewarded even a basic analysis of symbols/literary devices without being obnoxiously obvious.

I loved Kurt Vonnegut’s style of writing and am very keen to try out more of his work. In general the topic of war has never kept my interest so for this book to be 2.5/5 isn’t actually a rating. I loved the repetition and humour that made the book feel like it was a letter written to you the reader. I also really loved the perception of time.
