this book is an absolutely brilliant example of nonlinear storytelling. i was hooked the entire time and extremely immersed in every scene. the humor caught me off guard many times and i almost laughed out loud on the metro while listening. and yet the book is so heavy and heartbreaking. i would recommend this to everyone, living or dead. so it goes.

‘And what do the birds say? All there is to say about a massacre, things like “Poo-tee-weet?”’

I liked the writing style and the bulk of the story. Was fucked up and a bit comedic.
The way women were written in this was kinda bad.
My favourite part is still the opening chapter though.

I was upset to be honest. It was upsetting, really dark and couldn't find a motive. Definitely not a bad one, but it's the type of book, where you think back to the time you've read it and you get a headache. From the perspective of Billy it seemed that nothing in his life had a point. He was just drifting with the tide.
