Spicy Page Turner. I really hope that Morgan does not follow in the same footsteps as her sister Rae. She could possibly bring her family to it’s knees in the same manner Rae does. I’m hoping she matures sooner than later.

I’m giving this a 3.5 rating. I struggled to finish this book. I wanted to like it but I wasn’t feeling the relationship between Morgan (17 at the time) and Messiah (25). If she had been older, I could’ve gotten with it. Also, Morgan is incredibly childish, which makes sense for her age. She has no business being involved with Messiah.

This. Nigga. Here.
Whew! This was a read. A black love story for the ages. The twists, turns, up, and downs of this emotional rollercoaster had me experiencing so many feels. At points I didn't want to put these books down and couldn't. These characters remained with me even in my sleep. This is a story of love, forgiveness, healing, growth, and resilience. Ethic. Alani. Nannie. Bella. Eazy. Morgan. Messiah. Bleu. Isa. Aria. Ahmeek. NYAIR (who I don't think gets enough love). We watch these characters walk through so much turmoil, brokenness, and healing. They grow through it all. One of my favorite things about this book besides the characters and storyline is the accompanying playlists and infusion of music through this story. These books come with their very own soundtrack that has me all in my feels with songs on repeat. If you wanna snot-nose ugly cry, experience full belly laughs, and wade through every emotion with these characters this is the book for you. Our very own black love story. This story has revitalized my imagination and creativity. Thank you Ashley Antoinette for telling our stories with such care and passion. Keep writing! We want more!

Starts bad and just gets worse. Explicitly depicted rape in the second chapter. Misogynistic, rape culture bs throughout.

Intriguing story with relatable writing. Unnecessarily detailed at some parts.
