I'll forgive the numerous typos in favor of the message Dr. ET provides through his autobiography, which reminds one to develop and exercise grit through life's challenges and my favorite: "If you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful." It doesn't (and shouldn't) matter where you're from or what your upbringing was, but if you recognize you want to become better and you want your surroundings to be equally better, then you would do well to follow ET's example.

One of the best books I have read in a a long time. Highly motivational. With the semester starting on Monday it was a perfect read to wrap up my summer.

I wanted to love this book, I really did. I found Eric Thomas on Facebook and watched a clip of his. Then I found his videos on YouTube and got hooked. While studying for the Bar I would use his inspirational videos to help me believe in myself. Now, with the Bar successfully behind me, I thought I'd enjoy using his audiobook to inspire me in my career. His passion just did not translate well in book form. The book would have benefited from some careful editing. The stories seemed to come out of nowhere, one chapter did not flow into the other and it leaves the listener/reader confused about the where in the timeline Thomas is.

All in all, I think it's a pretty good book and would be inspirational for a college student or someone going back to school after a long break.

Listened to the audiobook and it was amazing. The principles and secrets of success that Eric shared in his autobiography are 100% true and practical. Somewhere in the middle, the book gets a little dull, but apart from that, this book is super inspiring.
