Dear Adam is a cute story about Aly who's twin brother Adam who goes to California on a work trip and reunited with their childhood friend Levi. On facetime with Adam, Levi is in the background and all the romantic feelings Aly had for Levi in high school comes back. But after Adam gets in a car wreck, causing him to go into a coma, Aly starts sending "dear adam" texts to her twin brother for when he wakes up. What Aly doesn't know is that the person who has Adam's phone is Levi.

This was a super cute story, although a bit cheesy and silly at times, it is a nice, fluffy read if you are looking for a good palate cleanser. It is 100% clean if you are looking for that which i know many people will appreciate!

Also the book is taken place is Charleston and includes a small business flower shop, lots of dogs, and cute contractors.

This book is released May 20th, 2023!

Thank you to Kelsey Whitney and NetGalley for the arc!!

It was cute! Binged in one day. Had great brothers best friend vibes. And the dogs were cute. But lost a lil somethin somewhere in there. I wanted a little more out of the relationship.

Short Synopsis: Aly has had a crush on Levi (her twin brother Adam’s best friend) since high school. When Adam get in a car accident leaving him in a coma, Aly texts him updates for when he wakes up. But Levi has Adams phone, and is getting the messages.

My thoughts: This was a cute sweet rom- com with adorable doggy sidekicks. I think Pretzel and Hank added some great humor to an otherwise sad book with Adam being in the hospital.

I liked the dynamic between Aly and Levi and loved that this book had both perspectives as we watch them each admit feelings for each other.

There were some great side characters, but Aly’s parents and Hudson were equally horrible and I kind of wished they’d all play in traffic together.

Read if you love:
  • Home renovation projects
  • Small businesses
  • Doggy sidekicks
  • Twin Brothers best friend
  • Childhood crushes
  • Closed door romance

This book is so adorable!
I'm a true sucker for brother's best friend trope so you can imagine my excitement with Dear Adam. This book is a perfect "read in one sitting on a Sunday afternoon" kind of book.💗

Aly always had a huge crush on Levi, but unfortunately since Levi moved to California 10 years ago they really lost touch: she never saw him again and she never heard from him, either.
So it definitely catches Aly by surprise when one day she's FaceTiming Adam (her twin brother) and spots a handsome young man, only to discover that it's Levi himself, and all of a sudden the butterflies Aly thought were long gone come back in an instant.

Turns out Levi also had a crush on Aly, but Adam not only made it crystal clear to stay away from his sister, he was also getting in-between them all the time.

After Adam's terrible car accident which leaves him in a coma, Aly and Levi seem to reconnect and comfort each other.

I enjoyed very much getting to know these characters, watch them realise they have always felt the same for one another and see their friendship grow and evolve. Also, the doggies in this book? MY HEART MELTED! 🥰

Ohhh and also, Adam and Emma?! Please tell me this is happening, because I now realise I very much need their story!!

I wish there were another 1-2 chapters in the book, because I feel I need a closure when it comes to Aly's terrible-horrible-ew-ew-ew parents (and, well, Hudson) since it ended in a rather "odd" way, but I do hope Aly got the courage to stand up to them and, well, tell them to mind their own business (ideally in a ruder way 😌).

Thank you NetGalley and Kelsey Whitney for the ARC of this book!💗

Aly & Adam Bloomington have always been there for one another, not only because their twins but because they're also best friends. When Adam travels to CA for work, he meets up with his childhood best friend, Levi. THE Levi, the one man that was off limits for Aly all those years ago.
When Adam facetimes her with Levi right beside him, she quickly realizes that he can still make her heart pitter patter.
But everything changes, just as quick, when a terrible accident leaves Adam in a coma. Wanting comfort from the only person who can't answer back, she decided to text her brother daily life updates.. "Dear, Adam"

ALY_BLOOMINGTON:
My sweet independent QUEEN! I loved that although she came from a well off background she was DETERMINED to do things on her own. I mean.. she was taking on a cottage reno through DIY YouTube videos! You go, GIRL!
I would've LOVED for her to stand up more to her parents (BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Bloomington Parents!) But.. I get it, baby steps & all that.

"Nothing makes you feel like a less poweful woman than uncomfortable panties."

LISTEN! My girl is just out here speaking TRUTHS! & this is why I LOVED her; because of the way she had me CACKLING with her inner thoughts!

When I saw the dachshund on the cover, I knew I needed this. But then I read the synopsis and was hooked.

Short Synopsis:
Aly and Adam are twins and best friends. Adam travels to California for work but spends a few days with Levi - his childhood friend, and the source of Aly’s childhood crush. But tragedy happens in California. Adam is in a car wreck and suddenly in a coma. Aly missing her brother and best friend, begins to text him all the updates about her life as she would normally - including Levi.

My Thoughts:
I can’t say enough good things about this one. It was so cute. It made my heart squeeze. Aly, Adam, Levi and Emma are just the best! (Aly and Adam’s parents not so much.) If you want a sweet romance that you’ll fly through and make your heart squeeze, pick up this one.

Thanks so much to Kelsey Whitney for the copy of this book!

Dear Adam is is an adorable, closed-door, southern romance featuring the brother's best friend trope. Levi and Aly are brought back together when Levi and Aly's twin brother, Adam, get into a car accident and Adam ends up in a coma. Aly writes letters starting with "Dear Adam" texted to Adam's phone - which Levi just happens to have. It causes him to check on Aly and end up coming back to their hometown to help her out.

Aly and Levi were really great together, and I loved watching their romance bloom while the dogs, Pretzel and Hank, also shared some love. Aly's parents were HORRENDOUS and Hudson, the guy they want Aly to be with, was so pretentious it made me laugh. Glenda, Adam's assistant, is hysterical and added some wonderful humor to the story. While this does have a brother/friend in a coma, this is not a sad book and is a really delightful rom com that will leave you with a feel-good vibe after reading. I'm hoping there's a next book featuring two certain characters from this one!

Read if you:
- like the brother's best friend trope
- enjoy reading indie romance
- have a dog that gets into a lot of trouble
