Hot steamy garbage. You seriously are never going to get me to believe that parents would willfully MURDER their own children. I don’t care how big of an asshole they are. That’s a never gonna happen scenario. I also hated how the new girl isn’t in town for more than a week before shit hits the fan there is literally no legs for this story to stand on. The only thing I enjoyed was the slasher film gore and carnage this book gives and that is definitely not enough to hang your hat on.

3.5 ⭐️ This was a book with no real substance. It was just a blood and gutted filled slasher with lots of character deaths and action.

Clown in a Cornfield is a bloody good time.  Adam Cesare has a knack for writing YA prose that sounds youthful, but not jouvenile.  While set today, there's almost a nostalgic feel with the adults vs the children atmosphere.  It's like if Footloose was a horror story that swapped dancing for vlogging.  Because it's YA, it's never too gory.  It flows nicely and is a fast read.  I totally recommend.

I am hoping to come back to this, but I simply lost interest. I listened to this via audio, and that may have played a part. I struggle with audiobooks occasionally. The book is super interesting and it’s a fun slasher that would be great to read during the month of October or any time you want to read something spooky.
