This was such a heavy book. The author captured dread, compulsion and aversion impeccably. It’s relatively short but dense and I can’t stop thinking about it. Definitely recommend.
The title of that last chapter...the last chapter. Man...

General comment
Such an interesting dynamic between the sisters, would love to see it explored on screen. Felt like good reading for dipping in and out of or a book for a lazy morning.
Characters
Favourite character: Ayoola.
Did the characters feel real? Mostly.
Plot
Did the story keep you guessing? Yes.
Favourite part of the book? Korede's hospital scenes.
Any type of scene or feeling conjured well? Trust. Sisterhood.
Did it grip you? No.
Setting
Enough detail of setting for the plot, but not particularly notable!
Laugh scale 5/10
Cry scale 0/10
Type of reader you'd recommend it to: People who enjoy strong female characters etc.
Reminded me of: Brit Bennett, The Vanishing Half, Gail Honeyman.

Interesting book about a culture I know little about (Africa, not serial killers...). I liked the writing style and it was amusing.

I didn’t immediately take to this one. But ultimately, I ended up enjoying it. Although the ending was rather unsatisfying - maybe it is a setup for a sequel. I really liked the writing and the short chapters. It made it easy to stay engaged. The characters weren’t necessarily likeable but they were complex and interesting.
