Primera vez leyendo a Bentley en formato novela (leí un cuento antes y ese me había gustado mucho).
Que les puedo contar:
* escribe bien
* es un libro demasiado largo para la historia que cuenta (y por lo que veo suele hacer lo mismo en todas sus novelas): en cierta forma suena mucho de lo que hace ol' Stephie pero donde nuestro maestro moderno te agrega una historia detrás de cada persona, Little no se gasta tanto. He visto que hay una colección de cuentos de él y planeo comprarla en el futuro, creo que esa forma le sienta mejor (y seamos realistas, la mayoría de los autores podrían contar en unas páginas lo que cuentan en 500).
* el horror que motiva la historia es, la verdad sea dicha, infantil. No me molesta la falta de justificación, no la necesito pero ¿el origen de la maldad que da vida a "La Influencia"? c'on....
* el final agridulce de la historia: buen punto

Ok horror story marred by some gross stuff that is not really necessary for the story and thus seems to be there just for shock effect. With the long lead-up the ending is underwhelming. Also several things left hanging and side characters forgotten. For example the nature of angel/daemon. They send out mails with images to several people, historians, anthropologists - and that is never mentioned again. The crazy human sacrificing fundie - what happen to him…etc

The same plot of most of his books
It was fun. If you like his stuff you'll like it. The only notable details were what sets the plot off, and the freaking chickens. And for like the 5th time in his books I've read, major explosives defeat supernatural evil for no apparent reason. I'd feel bad about spoiling that, but seriously it's his stock ending. He phoned this one in but it works well enough
