Underwhelming. Completely lacking in subtlety, relentlessly shoving the message down the reader's throat.

I didn't really enjoy the book, but that's probably because I hate
sad endings

Livro 64 /104
ÓSCAR
e a Senhora Cor-de-Rosa
Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt
94 páginas
COMOVENTE . SIMPLES E GENIAL

Schmitt has no respect for gentle endings—this is devastating. The story itself is beautiful, of course. A young boy at the sunset of his life trying to live it all before his passing. A story of life and faith. I found it interesting how the entries become more profound and philosophical as days pass: he does not actually age, but his thoughts do. He starts out with simple recountings and childish arguments, but, by the end, he really starts to appreciate the philosophy and beauty behind life as it is given to us. Just beautiful.
