I enjoyed this book a lot, and it was written very well. The only reason I wouldn’t give it five stars is because I think that there are some portions of the plot that didn’t have to be as dramatic. I would give examples, but I don’t want to leave spoilers. However, I will say it’s a great read for female teens who are curious as to what life can be like if they choose to date the wrong male. This gives an interesting perspective with a lot of twists.

I was not prepared for this book at all. This book was so good. Raven worked my nerves with trying to be a grown woman at 17. She just wanted to be wifey to a thug so damn bad. Mizan did what any thug looking for a come up would have done but he was so extreme with his ways. I didn't like him and Rich was too loyal to him. Ethic tried saving Raven before she even got in too deep but here comes her grown self. I'm so glad he got her up out of there eventually. Raven grew on me with her growth. I'm so happy she had it and realized she was reverting to old her. I'm so mad Ethic didn't use logic when she called saying she was going back to Flint. I hate that Raven didn't make it. I was looking forward to more of her and Ethic.

A page turner! I knew this book was going to be good when I looked at the top of the page and saw page 80 and already so much had already went down, and I kept turning the page. At one point I had to close the book to soak up how good it was, I said out loud, "this book is good." I have the Ethic series on my December tbr but I'm rethinking it. I have to know what happened to Ethic. Mizan was the grimmest character I ever read about.

The end of the book had me in shambles. Overall decently written and out together. Will continue with the series.

I wasn't sure about reading this book because it's not my typical read. I'm here to tell you this book was the quickest book I've ever read. I could NOT put this book down!! If you want to break a lull in your reading, you need to read this book. You won't be sorry.

Too good!!
As someone who used to read urban fiction a lot as a kid, I’m so glad I discovered this book! The plot was interesting and well-paced. I loved the character development and the way the author revealed each character’s perspective and how they came to make certain decisions! This read definitely felt like watching a movie
