Am amazing fantastical read filled with mild mysterious world building. Yet even with the mystery the world isn’t hard to grasp, it’s more like it pulls you in and makes you want for more but not in a way that leaves you dissatisfied. Filled with loving romance and devastating heartbreak.

L'écriture est réellement superbe. L'autrice a le don de nous faire sentir dans le moment notamment via la description des odeurs. Surprenant. Toutefois, j'ai trouvé le début tellement lent et peu intéressant. <Spoilers>Je me suis écrié "Enfin!"

Addie was not an interesting enough character for me to continue the book and neither was her love interest.

I also couldn't understand the attraction of her being with Luc or wanting to for any reason because he was the one who cursed her. It felt very slow to me and I did not want to continue after getting halfway through the book.

This book is absolutely amazing! You’re guided through history like you’ve never been guided before. Addie is such an interesting and complex protagonist who I adored from start to finish! Her ambition and passion for life is just astounding and her beautiful tragic story was truly fantastic. I’m a huge fan of V.E. Schwab and have been for years and I love all of the books I’ve read by her so far but this one hit me HARD. I went from smiling to crying to feeling actually nauseous at some scenes purely from the intense emotions I felt while reading some of the later chapters! I actually could not recommend this book more it is a masterpiece!

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue Review

“Books, she has found, are a way to live a thousand lives--or to find strength in a very long one” - V E Schwab 📖

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.75 Stars

This was a beautiful story, I can see why it is so well loved. It felt like a poem or a love letter. I really was sucked into Addies life. V E Schwab is just magical with words. ✍🏻

I struggled for a good 20% as it was just pretty slow, with not much going on. I’m not sure I would’ve pushed through if I didn’t have the audiobook. But out of nowhere I just fell in love with Addie, I couldn’t let her go. ❤️‍🩹

The plot isn’t anything mind blowing and it definitely was longer than necessary. But I just felt so many emotions, heads up to check TWs! Henry was top tier, we waited a long time for him but his character was great. 👀

Moments of this book felt like something special and other moments felt lack lustre. The ending, for example, was a perfectly heart wrenching bundle of words. Yet it was thrown off, mainly due to Luc’s character being so underdeveloped, I don’t think it hit the way intended for me. 🙈

I get the hype, it’s like nothing else I’ve read. It deserved to be perfect…
