I DNF’d this book the first time I tried to read it but then I picked it up again. I almost DNF’d it AGAIN!!! It is just sooooo hard to get into! I love the entire idea of the book but it dragged so much! I hated how often she’d go back to her little home town I’d just skim through it. I loved Henry so much though and Luc was a bit scary at times but I also liked him sometimes?????? Idk, it was a little boring for me overall. It took me so long to read it too because of that

Omg I did not expect this to be so good. A great amount of romance, I loved the timeline jumps. Usually I don’t read things that are a bit “paranormal” or that include supernatural beings but it really wasn’t too out there. I personally wish the ending was slightly different but it wasn’t bad at all. I think if I read it in book form rather than audiobook it would have hit me in the feels a whole lot more but definitely made me teary at one point.

@Elliasreads summed up my thoughts quite nicely: "Pretty book filled with pretty people and pretty writing."

I can see why so many people loved this book, especially when you take into account that many readers rediscovered their love of reading with this book during the pandemic. For that, I appreciate this book.

Did I like it, though?

Not especially. I found it too slow, repetitive, and predictable. This could have been a brilliant book at half the length. It's a great idea and I'd recommend it to readers; it just wasn't for me.

This was such a good book, the only reason it wasn’t a full 5 stars is because the first 30% of the book felt very slow and made it hard to get into. Other than that a perfect book.
