A fun YA sci-if/fantasy! In the same vein as the Lunar Chronicles and I look forward to reading the sequel! At first the robot love thing kinda weirded me out but oddly it felt less weird as the story went on and you found out things about Di that made him feel more human.

I loved this book. When I first began, and for the first 50 pages or so I was sceptical as it seemed pretty cliché and your standard YA sci fi novel. But, it grew into such a wonderful world with incredible characters that I absolutely adore. I had a lot of fun reading it and it is one of those that I am certain I'll go back to reread.
Admittedly, some of the plot twists I saw coming from a mile away, but there were still plenty of other points and twists that I never saw coming to make up for them tenfold. This book does also end in an “open cliffhanger” which I don’t like in novels, but I had decided to read the sequel before reaching the end so it didn’t really influence my decision.
This book’s best asset is that the characters are diverse, very lovable and real. They make the world so immersive and I felt genuinely connected to the plot, the world and its characters.
I will definitely be reading the second and I'm excited to jump back into the universe.

“Anastasia” meets “Treasure Planet” in this action-packed YA sci-fi by Ashley Poston!

This is my second time reading “Heart of Iron” (my first time on audiobook) and I was just as engaged and excited as I was in 2021 when I read it the first time. Poston blended elects from two animated classics into a new story that will interest any science fiction fan.

All of the characters are are so vibrant and fun, with layers of backstory that slowly reveals over the course of the story. They fit perfectly in the beautiful world Poston created as well, which has nods to the world building in the “Star Wars” franchise.
