I was so excited…. And then I immediately rejected everything I read. It made me itchy.

NOPE!
The ugliest version of P&P and graphic novel I've ever opened.

A graphic novel version of Pride and Prejudice? Why, yes indeed! Graphic novels are not a genre of which I regularly partake (the language must be rubbing off on me). The pictures were a bit more glamorous and soap-opera-esque than I would have expected and the print a bit small for mg aging eyes, but it was still worth a read.

Pride & Prejudice has quickly become one of my favorite love stories of all time. I was looking for a quick read and found a graphic novel rendition of the story.

Pride & Prejudice by Nancy Butler is a pretty great retelling of the tale. I thought that the dialogues were well-chosen. I definitely felt like it was Lizzie who I was reading about. It's a great book for people who aren't up to reading the actual novel...or for fans (like me). The only downside to this book was the art style. I have no problem with the Marvel comic art style...but it just wasn't for this book. It really put me off, which is really the only main reason I didn't like this as much as I wanted to.

The cover art also threw me off. It's a completely different style from what the rest of the graphic novel is like. I would prefer the cover style to the actual A LOT more. But if you're a fan...I recommend picking this up and see for yourself. :)

The cover was excessively attractive and appealing. I'll admit, the cover is the entire reason why I picked this up. The illustrations inside did not match the style of the cover and were much more gaudy and comic book-y. I also didn't think that the dialogue flowed nearly as well as the original.

I was disappointed and couldn't make it through.

I love the story of Pride and Prejudice, it is one of my favorite stories. It was interesting to read it in graphic novel form.

I thought the illustrations were a little odd, they were like the 2000s met the Victorian era. I thought the character's faces were very sharp and aggressive looking. And at times the charters were drawn a bit messy looking, and when I picture the Victorian period I think of everything being proper and everything being in its place.

It was fun but different.

Now that I've read more graphic novels I can understand why I didn't like this one.

-This was lackluster, boring, and not well executed.

-I didn't care for the artwork *at all* and the cover is a definite mismatch.
