A bit broody, especially the first 100 pages or so. The political intrigue was high enough that I read another 100 pages, and got invested enough to finish the book. By the end, I was fully satisfied with the book and already put the sequel in my Amazon cart

This is the first installment of the series. I really enjoyed the story, it's different and doesn't seem like it's an overdone story. I love that the identity pronouns integrated into the story for a character like it should be: not a big deal. Engaging story. I will look forward to more books from Melissa.

Too juvenile-feeling.
