Love most certainly is a battlefield. In I SEE YOU, Molly McAdams again explores the emotional upheaval between three people unknowingly caught in the same tangled web. And damn that web. It smothers all three causing them to choke on and be blinded to the effect of a deep connection and the unforgiving heart. But McAdams takes us right into it and doesn’t let up.

I won’t go into detail on much because I really don’t want to give anything away so don’t worry about continuing on. What I really enjoyed about this novel was that it didn’t hold back. In these types of ‘love triangle’ books, there’s tippy-toeing and then there’s going full hog–and we’re in full hog, baby. This story is not pretty or safe or without very flawed, but real characters; it isn’t afraid of getting into the messiness that can come between a couple and an outside source. And I SEE YOU has a very complicated and mired love story.

It is painful and it is brutal at times. But it is also sexy and beautiful and heartwarming. It’s a weird, sort of paradoxical story that gives us all facets grouped together to tell the same story. I didn’t connect as deeply as I wanted to, but that didn’t inhibit my enjoyment of the story. I could still appreciate and feel everything I needed to, I just didn’t get overwhelmed with emotion as I expected from this kind of tale. Certainly, that is just my reaction and I still enjoyed it so please don’t let that hold you back from it in any way. The love story in I SEE YOU was taboo yet addictive, and gave that heart-rushing adrenaline of something naughty but altogether beautiful. The angst of the story will absolutely reel you in and keep you there until the very end.

The blurb and cover alluded to a more intriguing read than the actual story ended up delivering. It was okay but I have read a very similar new adult plot so I knew the ending at the very beginning.

It started off with a wild night between two strangers and then had them officially meet after a year. Unfortunately, Aurora Wilde was living with Declan, the brother of her one night stand, Jentry Michaels.

I feel like the author had already positioned and continually maneuvered the reader towards the brother Aurora ended up with. First of all, it's hard to root for a man who lets his mother treat his girlfriend the way Declan's mom treated Aurora. The fact that the whole family, father and sisters, stood quietly by observing such vile behavior already poisoned them in my mind.

Also, there wasn't enough interaction between Aurora and with Declan to really show the chemistry and intensity to rival the passion she shared with Jentry. I am convinced that Declan knew from that first day he introduced Aurora to Jentry that there was something going on. It just became a matter of time and what would be the casualties when Jentry and Aurora claimed each other.

This story would be stronger if the author developed the characters much more. The The writing was okay but I didn't like the time jump, 13 months ago, present time, That night, 2 months ago etc. The flow of the story felt disrupted with the back and forth with the characters. I was expecting more of a love triangle than it ended up being.

The last scene with Declan's mother and Aurora was such BS. No way would that be sufficient. I don't see why Aurora never stood up for herself then or at the end. I would have respected Aurora if she told her to get out.

Overall, this book was underwhelming. The characters and overall story was too undercooked to truly move me.

What the heck just happened? Did I really find a Molly McAdams book that I didn't like and honestly couldn't finish the last 100 pages of?

This book is about Aurora who after one night at a party with a random guy becomes instantly hooked on him and can't get him out of her head. She goes to random parties every weekend to try and find him again even though they both agreed it would only be a one night thing. While searching for him one night she meets a new guy named Declan and they start dating and eventually move in together but she still can't get the mystery guy out of her head. Little does she know her mystery guy is intertwined more into her and Declan's life than she could imagine.

First off please tell me I wasn't the only one constantly confused by where I was at in the book. Almost every chapter bounced from "That Night" to "Present Day" to "A Month Ago". I was so dang confused about what was going on, what had already happened, and then we're talking about something that happened months ago. Like, huh??? I feel like that played a huge part in me DNFing this book because I was so dang lost and gave up trying to figure out where I was.

Another thing I disliked were the characters. I couldn't stand any of them honestly. I felt like Aurora needed to grow a backbone and go after what she actually wanted regardless of what everyone thought especially the psycho mom.

I'm not done ranting about this book but I could probably go on forever so I'll just leave it at this.

This is my first Molly McAdams book, and whilst I liked it, I didn't love it.

With my confuzzled brain, it jumped around too much for me. Present tense, a year ago, last week, a month ago, I was all over the place.

The love triangle between Jentry, Rorie and Declan has the read all tied up in knots. Who will Rorie choose, who will have their heart broken (there is always a loser in a love triangle story), will anyone find their HEA.

By abuot the half way mark, I felt like I should have had a chart up on the wall for reference of times and places and people. I didn't know whether I was coming or going at times.

I liked the story, but the execution of it was just a little off for me.

I will go back and read Ms McAdams books in the future though.

Thank goodness I look at her reading orders before I start reading. But anyways....Molly knows how to do love triangles and past and present reading like no other.

When I first start any book by her, i'm always rooting for the original couple. Whether she name them or not, I root for them. I thought that was what I was getting into with this book.

Twists and turns. Jealousy. Family. Love. Oh Molly, you've done it again.

I have been a Molly fan for years. That being said I don't think I have ever read one of her books and didn't have the words to describe how I felt about it. Well this book had me speechless.

I wonder throughout this book if Molly would destroy me. She has a tendency to do this to me.

This book had mystery and had me not wanting to put it down. I wanted answers and I wanted them right then and there.

Molly knows how to write some amazing characters and very deep and complex as well. I'm just going to say I have a new book boyfriend.

Jentry!!

I don't know what more to say without giving away this book. But I am not disappointed in Molly at all.
