Wow

I was reading a lot of reviews about this book I really had no idea if I was going to like it or not. I was not disappointed not one bit. Riggs was what I expected and more Blakely wasn't what I expected at all. Blakely was a fighter even though she was naive to certain things but she was amazing. Riggs I had a love hate relationship with I hate the things he did and I understood most of his actions not all. This book had me crying and a lost for words. This book was way more than what I expected and the reviews did not do it justice. It is told from dual POV. If you don't like the book please be kind to the author who put in a lot of hard work I writing and giving us pure entertainment for our reading pleasure.

FMC is annoying and this book was boring. She questioned everything, which isn’t horrible on the surface, but even after everything is explained to her, she is still an asshole. Listening to the audiobook was like watching paint dry. This is my second attempt with this author and I think I’m done. She just isn’t for me.

This book caught my attention from the first page! It had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. I love Riggs and Blakely’s relationship. Maggie has done it again!

When Riggs finds out that his partner has been stealing from their company he promises revenge.

So when his daughter ends up in his exclusive clubs auction for a sub he buys her, but instead of a month he requests a year.

Blakely has been running from her manipulative father and alcoholic mother. She didn’t mean to join the auction but feels safe with Riggs having known him from before.

She wasn’t expending all the strings included as part of their deal and her feisty personality doesn’t make her the perfect sub.

This was an intense read, a little darker than I prefer at times but also had some tropes I really like. This book is a duet so have to read The Vow to get the final story. While book 2 was a little out there I still really enjoyed the story and her writing so I will be reading more from this author.

I don’t know what I was expecting when I picked up Maggie Cole’s “The Auction,” but it was definitely as dark and twisted as advertised! This is part one of Riggs and Blakely’s story, and I loved watching everything play out. Riggs was a very complicated person, he’s dead set on revenge and I didn’t think he could care about anyone else - but the way his relationship with Blakely progressed proved me wrong. I thought Blakely was an amazing character; she had spirit, and I was amused by her defiance. That ending was absolutely maddening… I need to know what happens next!!!

Him getting another girl off in front of her while she's begging him not to just so he can "teach her a lesson" is where I draw the line. He promised her he wouldn't when the rules were discussed but he has no respect for her, I hate him. Worst Dom story I've ever read. Dom's protect their subs. This was foul.

Well, both of these characters are damaged and traumatized. The parallels to 50 Shades are very clear but this book is much more emotionally charged and digs into the characters damage much more.
