I finished it, but not my thing. Characters and conflict didn't resonate with me. All the French bits felt too cheesy. Loved the dungeon, hated the necklaces.

I enjoyed this... other than the MMC. I would have been happier without his POVs. Other than that, I really liked it!

Think Emily in Paris meets A Dress for the Wicked, but spicy ;)

I have always enjoyed reading books with competitions in them, and this was no different! I thought the whole story was written pretty well and I really liked Autumn.

Autumn is invited to participate in this design competition in Paris for a huge fashion house. She meets Simon, the nephew of the head of said fashion house, and they have an instant connection. I thought their chemistry was great and the spice was good too! I loved reading about the different designs she and her fellow competitors created, and seeing her build connections with those girls.

the only complaint I have is that I didn't like Simon. I liked him from Autumn's pov! but his... I thought his povs were annoying and seemed kind of repetitive, so that kind of was a bummer bc I usually love dual povs. his just didn't really add much of anything to the story tho.

Overall, I liked it and would definitely recommend if your a fan of the show Emily in Paris and the book A Dress for the Wicked!

I absolutely loved this book! The story line, the interactions/banter between the hero and heroine, the humor, the emotions I felt, and the relationship that developed between the main characters. This forbidden, forced-proximity, romantic comedy gave me all the feels, there were some expected twists, and I could not get enough of it! Lauren Landish is slowly becoming one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait to read more from her!

Autumn goes to Paris to compete for a designer spot at House Corbin. All the competitors will be doing a series of designs and showing them and in her first task she ends up in Simon Corbin's office twerking, embarrassed and realizing she went in the wrong office she flees but not before making womanizer Simon Corbin completely enamored by her. During the competition he pursues her and despite her protests the two end up together. Things get very real very fast, but Simon has a past and Autumn has insecurities that they must work through to be together. Add in a scheming aunt, another model and an ex-girlfriend and the two of them are torn apart. Luckily they both realize that they made mistakes and Simon makes his grand gesture to be with Autumn.

I thought their meet cute was hilarious. I liked Simon pursuing her and that he fell hard and fast. Autumn was funny and cute and willing to sacrifice Simon for her dream of being a fashion designer at first though the closer they became the less willing she was to do that. I liked that the girls for the most part were a team and friends despite competing against one another. This book is light, funny, romantic read and I really liked it.

Autumn Fisher is an up and coming fashion designer, so when she gets called to Paris for an opportunity with THE Jacqueline Corbin of House Corbin, she’s absolutely thrilled. Autumn is determined to work hard and impress Jacqueline with her designs, but what she wasn’t counting on was Simon Corbin, Jacqueline’s sexy model nephew. Since Simon is such a monumental part of House Corbin, Autumn knows from the start that she shouldn’t get involved with him. The more he pursues her, the more he wears her down… but could this conflict of interest destroy everything she’s worked so hard for?

Oh. My. Gosh. This was my first Lauren Landish book, but I know for a fact that I’m going back to read everything else she’s written! “The French Kiss” is a funny and steamy workplace romance that will have you laughing out loud one moment and then ready to throw your kindle at the wall at the next. Reading this book put me in an instant good mood, and I loved everything about it. Autumn and Simon’s relationship was full of witty banter, sinful steam, and perfectly swoony moments that will make you absolutely fall in love with them. I also really loved Autumn’s relationship with the other girls in the competition, as well as Simon’s dedication to helping the boys at the orphanage. All in all, this was an extremely enjoyable read, and I highly recommend!!!

Autumn is a small-town girl living her dreams in the Big Apple. She is a fashion assistant to a moderate fashion mogul. She takes her job seriously but also has a little sass in her. Her work talks for her as she gets invited to a contest in Paris for a high-class fashion conglomerate.

Oh, the fashion challenges start early with this competition. I wish the French words were translated, as I don't understand what the author is trying to get across with the sayings and had to pause to look them up and translate them myself. In Paris, the other competitors are very blunt in their girl talk. Her entry is fabulous but needs to be to the right audience. I'm surprised she wasn't mortified enough to run away. At least the contestants seem to get along. They may develop amazing friendships from this experience.

Simon, heir to the esteemed fashion house in Paris. He is wealthy, privileged and the executive director. He is intrigued by our curvy mc. Even though she made quite the entrance. The author made this satisfying with the outlandish visuals that make this story memorable. Simon is the man who blurs the lines in this working relationship. Autumn is at a disadvantage being an American in a foreign county, a contestant, and him being essentially her boss. However, I'm not sure Simon is actually thinking with his head. Simon's dreams are steamy and hot, and I like his character even more when we are introduced to his loving companion.

I like the way he wines and dines her, even flirting unapologetically. They have opposites attract and an age gap vibe. Still, the chemistry is smoking, and the language barrier leads to some comical moments. This story has a little forbidden romance as Simon decides what he wants in his bed. However, Autumn separates the competition from the intimate moments and does not have to lose one or the other, or does she?.

The author doesn't capture the romanticized version of Paris we hear of but instead, the more sensual side with many descriptive scenes and actions that lead toward more. This book gets complicated as their secret romance is discovered, and they are both at risk of consequences. However, they continue regardless. Real life interrupts at the finale. I expected something significant but not quite that backstabbing. I love that grand gesture in this globe-trotting romance and the surprising apology. The HEA makes this book a sweet romance.

The author got a little hot in the bedroom scenes, which is definitely for a mature audience. I like the character's passion for each other and their professional and personal interests. The characters were well-rounded and described in a way that you can't help but swoon for Simon and enjoy the aggressive attitude of Autumn. This was a great contemporary romance.

[sigh] and I thought I finally found a good fashion-forward story to read

Icky. Repetitive. Unclear. Soft. Bland. Badly written.

But it had potential and was sometimes building well on the idea of love, friendship and passion.

The French Kiss
By: Lauren Landish
Narrated by: Carly Robins, Rock Engle

Fun! Fun! Fun! That is what Lauren Landish has given us with The French Kiss! Emily in Paris meets Project Runway, Autumn goes to Paris to take part in a fashion contest with a major player in the industry. Feisty and focused, she is determined to prove to herself and her mother that she can make it! Little does she know exactly what France has to offer her. Simon, a fashion model takes a shine to the small town designer, and the two become secretly inseparable. But what will come of the two when it's all over? Is what Tobias says is true regarding men? Competitive friends, an over the top matriarch, a dog impossible not to love and a couple that sizzles in every scene, Landish creates a world of fierce competition, jealousy and love. The laugh out loud scenes, the frustration we could feel and the passion make this a must listen!

Carly Robins and Rock Engle bring it all to life. Robins is fantastic as Autumn. She's spunky, ambitious and passionate, wearing her heart on her sleeve and making us feel everything Autumn does. Engle pops out with a phenomenal French accent as Simon, winning my heart just by listening! He does an amazing job getting into Simon's head, letting us feel where he started, and where he is going.Sensual and alluring he is fabulous. These two made this listen so enjoyable, it's one you have to grab!
