I think this just felt a bit rushed for me but I liked it overall. I think more could’ve been done to explore the context more. Also, I wasn’t a fan of the ending.

I was driven insane by how many times the entire premise of the story was repeated. She recapped no less than 50 times, I’m not even joking. I only finished it because I couldn’t return it, but I found myself rolling my eyes constantly. The story had a lot of potential, it was just extremely poorly executed. I

I keep giving DS another chance, based on her early work. However, I truly think she is using so much “filler” in her writing these days that she takes a novella and stretches it to 300 pages for a high-page count payment on her ebook sales. Repetitious, elementary style writing that got very boring, and often full of flaws...it makes me sad to see what her writing has become. This one had a great premise, it was just so poorly written.

I hadn’t read Steele in many years and this one sounded interesting. It was a quick read with no real drama and a decent love story thrown in. It was rather formulaic but it was interesting to have the viewpoints shift as the main characters shifted. One of the early characters annoyed me to no end until the middle when she stopped being relevant to the story. Overall a pleasant and easy read.

 I liked the second half more, but still found it meh.. The story felt too forced. Not a nice introduction for me to Steel's works oops.

good storyline if a bit predictable, extremely dry, and repetitive writing.

Did not finish; read until page 78
I wanted a light read that would require no thought but that would also have a good story. I saw Danielle Steel had a new one out – and it was on ROYALTY. Oh goodness was I in the mood for princesses! Plus, I INHALED Danielle Steel’s first 20+ books. Guaranteed good read, right?

Nope. Not even close. Oh sure, the plot is intriguing. But … has she always written this poorly? She relies on telling readers what is going on: no evoking of senses or emotions. Her language is rudimentary. She repeats phrases or sentences – often within a paragraph or two but sometimes across pages and pages. {Seriously, would you stop pounding into my brain that no one knew who Charlotte was except the earl and countess? If you are going to tell me rather than show me then tell me once and move on already!}

I’m terrified to go back and re-read my two favorites The Ring and Wanderlust. I’m not sure which I fear more: that she always written in this manner or that she has lost her touch.

I had high hopes but alas!

Reading this book was like watching every typical 80s Bollywood movie.

I kept hoping for a twist but nothing
