This was so incredibly smart and a fascinating read and a great exercise in critically reading multidimensional representations of marginalized identities and the oppressive/privileged contexts in which we all operate, uniquely applied to speculative fiction. I'm in awe of Sami Schalk's writing and the work she did and I hope her work endures to inform how I read and engage spec fic from now on.

Super dense academic text, but it was also fascinating and deeply intelligent. Well worth every moment of struggle. (It gets easier after the first 10-15 pages!)

thanks Sami Schalk, my TBR list has now expanded greatly!
a book read for my critical disabilities course and a fascinating one at that! really enjoyed it and would highly recommend to academics, those interested in speculative fiction, those interested in disability + anti-racism activism, etc. etc.

Out of my depth, but learnt a lot! Gave me a framework for thinking about what I'm reading. Great bibliography too.
