Another essential read. A tale of resilience.

This was a really uncomfortable read. Not only for the atrocities committed upon the women of Berlin, but also for the lightness with which the atrocities of the Nazi regime is touched upon. Compelling story of survival and a lot of food for thought on complicity.

I love the idea of this, and most of the contents. My main problem is that while reading this I kept zoning out and losing interest. There are some truly gripping and heart breaking moments in this, and it's definitely worth a read.

I admire her courage and coolheadedness in the face of her world literally falling apart around her. It transcends the WWII genre into an existential/sociological study. I hope that she was able to find peace and stability.
