Interesting read by an author I hadn't read before. This is a work of historical fiction and perhaps fantasy? It is about a handful of people whose lives have intersected due to the fact that they were reincarnated from people in ancient Rome. Well written and engaging. Will read more in the series.

I gave up around page 130, maybe?

Neat ideas that weren't well fleshed out, and then it got boring and maybe the payout would have been great, but I wasn't willing to slog through and find out.

Also, it bugged me to no end that the scientists used BC/AD and not BCE/CE... let's lose the Christian bias, folks, even in a book whose story is steeped in the onset of Christianity and the horrors that brought down on many people.

It had a very disjointed storyline. I enjoyed parts of the story however it seemed that the plot lines themselves were rushed and that too much was going on. The ending as well was a huge let down as it just left far to many things open. If there is another book after this one I might be persuaded to change my position.

I enjoyed this book. It was something different than my usual fantasy genre fare but I really got into the characters and the plot really moved along. I like books that make me think and teach me things as well and this book does this. I never really knew much about the theory of reincarnation except for those religions that believe in it. This book opened my eyes to the fact that there are many people that believe in this theory or at least expressed interest through their poetry or quotes that they made during history. It is an interesting theory and this book makes me want to look more into it.

I actually somewhat enjoyed this book. I started off really disliking it; it felt cheesy and forced. I didn't connect with the characters. It felt slow and a little disjointed (though not necessarily in conjunction to the transition between times). Something in me shifted about half-way through and I ended up becoming a little invested. I wasn't dying to know the ending, but I didn't have to force myself through it either. I think it was the idea of reincarnation that drew me; I haven't ever studied the belief before and it intrigued me. I'm not sure that Rose really sold the concept, but I'm invested enough to finish the series. I felt as if I was reading a sci-fi version of Dan Brown and it wasn't totally unpleasant. I'm not sure that readers with a vast knowledge of reincarnation will enjoy this one, and those looking for a great mystery or adventure will find this novel lacking... but those looking for a slightly interesting and quick read will find that this delivers just that.

Entertaining, fast paced, good intro to the series. It seemed to end abruptly, but I guess that's sometimes the goal of a series, to hook you so you want more.

Fast-paced and full of mystery and suspense, this book will make you beg for more. Every page turned un-ravels a new mystery and it all comes together in the end in a surprising conclusion.
