good book. well written but with far too much detail. I skipped groups of pages at a time and didnt miss out on any of the plot. I loved the true Irish perspective from my American view. Loved the characters--the sage, the selfish, the prickly, the sweet. A bit mired in detail, otherwise great.

Keyes, as always, deftly and pleasurably subverts chick lit's most buyable elements--singletons, young marrieds, and unreliable bachelors. In the process, she creates a small, vibrant world whose characters are mostly well-drawn, though sometimes fantastic, and whose actions mostly make sense. There's enough Irish magical realism to satisfy those of us who continue to think of Ireland as the place where "Roan Innish" originated. The Irish slang is fun, too.

Bridget Jones Diary meets Dead Like Me, sort of. Good reading for the airport or beach. Mostly humorous, but with some serious issues addressed as well. Likable characters. I enjoyed it.

Listened to this one. The narrator was Caitriona Keyes and she did a wonderful job. I won't spoil it, but let's just say the ending will make you happy to say "karma's a bitch".
