I received a free copy of this story and chose to review it. This book was extremely engaging and I was dying to know more. I will admit that I didn't read all the way through. I wasn't aware when I received the book that it fell into the LGBT category. My interest in continuing was lost after reaching that part as it isn't a typical genre of mine to read. But the plot and storyline were fantastic. Anyone who doesn't mind this genre should definitely read.

I loved this book so much I read it in less than 24 hours. Magic, Demons, reincarnations. What more could you ask from a book? It is great for young adults all the way up to grown adults like myself that love magic and a good fast read.

It's my birthday today and I couldn't think of a better thing to do than read a great book. Birthday or not, you should read it too!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I found this to be a good solid read. The story did a good job pulling me right in and I enjoyed learning more about the world and the mysteries that are involved in it. I found the characters we were introduced to to be varied and interesting as well. There were also some really good plot twists I wasn't expecting too.

However, I did find aspects of the plot and world to not entirely be consistent throughout the book. I can't go into too much detail here but there were a few things here and there, that being said it wasn't enough to ruin my reading experience. I also found the character development to be inconsistent. We were really only introduced to a few characters and those characters didn't all develop very much. The weird forced love triangle between the main character, the roommate and her professor also a bit weird at times and I felt like there needed to be more addressed about the feelings of the main character and her roommate.

I also found the ending to be weird and it felt like all the world building and plot that had been done had gone to waste. I'm guessing this will be addressed in the next book though.

Overall, despite my criticisms of this book, I did find it to be a really good and enjoyable read and I look forward to seeing what the next book delivers.

This book is literally bits and bobs from other academy books. For instance, the book starts with its invite process similar to Harry Potter, a strange letter appears and poof she's off to a new college. In fact, when Eve finally gets to Faust University after some weirdness that she doesn't even question, she compares it to Harry Potter in several references.

As I was reading I was stuck thinking of Wonderland Academy, Magicians, and Vampire Academy to name just a few. There were many times Faust Academy picked up on other Paranormal Academy novels before it. I guess as the saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it, the plot of Faust Academy has a lot to offer, sadly it didn't live up to that. While I was often distracted by the similarities to previous novels I read, I did enjoy the narrative.

Here is where things go from weird to just insane. Upon arriving, she finds it bizarre and secretive. As she walks in she's informed about the courses they offer. Here she references Harry Potter again when the "guide" brings up Herbalists. She has an instant connection with her new roommate that is just is too fast to be even believed. And to a young man who she feels drawn to.

I think that if you have an extensive reading of Academy books, this book may be just a letdown. I did enjoy the story just not the characters. I felt their relationships were rushed, and information seemed to be lacking on some of the backstories that are mentioned quickly. Especially Eve and her mother.

I've received this book from BookSirens and I give it a 3 star rating. I wish I could have given it more because I really liked the premise of the Faust aspect, but it didn't really do much for me.
