1.5 stars. It’s the kind of romance book where I just can’t have a care for the two main characters. They are that boring.

It was a bit slow in the beginning but then it picked up. It was well written and obviously well researched. I really enjoyed the story and character development. Not giving it 5 stars because the ending felt rushed. looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series!

I’ve never dog eared a book so much in my life, truly. Such uniquely complex characters, swoon-worthy dialogue, and a plot that shines like a sun. In short: it’s Dunmore at her best. And that ending? God, someone sedate me.

Definitely one I'll go back to. They had great conversations about politics and about personal histories, so readers get to see them forging bonds, not just being horny. But they are also horny, and I thought the sex scenes were very good in terms of spice, tension, communication, and satisfaction.
Critiques:
Some scenes sound like speeches, a mini rant/essay, or PSA that you'd come across on social media.
Towards the end, when things are fairly good between them, I didn't really like the song and dance that Hattie wanted him to go through, but it isn't a big deal.
