Loved this story but would have liked to see more of the ghost!

Iā€™m a sucker for a B&B setting, pizza, and men in tool belts, so I should have loved this. I think it was the ā€œbad guyā€ who tanked it for meā€”he just wasnā€™t interesting, and his obsession felt tacked on.

I started to read this when I couldn't sleep and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Light hearted romance that made me smile. On to the next.

This series is an ideal source of comfort, and I adore Beckett, Owen and Ryder, anticipating their journeys throughout the three books. These perfect love stories have captured my heart! They bear a striking resemblance to the Bride Quartet series, evoking a sense of warmth and coziness, particularly with Clare, Beckett, and her delightful little sons.

The Inn.

I remember liking this more the first time I read it (years ago when it first came out). I still loved it but I think it could have been shortened a bit this time around.

"The historic hotel in BoonsBoro, Maryland, has endured war and peace, changing hands, even rumored hauntings. Now it's getting a major facelift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect of the family, Beckett's social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there's another project he's got his eye on: the girl he's been waiting to kiss since he was fifteen..." (From Amazon)

I do enjoy romances where childhood sweethearts/crushes come together again. I liked the romance of the couple but also enjoyed the story of the book. The only thing I did not care for much was when there was too much detail of redoing the Inn.

Nora, mah girl. You always get me right in the heart strings. Can I have Beckett to myself? Pretty please?

I listened to this book on audio which may influence my opinions.

Pros:

I love that this book is the perfect crossing of contemporary and paranormal romance without really crossing major lines. It seems like a good testing book for those who like one genre to try the other.

The families in this book are really wonderful and make you wish you lived in their town and could be part of their family.

Cons:

I really dislike the narratorā€™s choice to make the childrenā€™s voices so grating and annoying. I cringe every time. It sounds as though they were meant to be basically good children but they sound like awful little monsters always screeching.
