A light, breezy and engaging read. A bit repetitive at times but the chapter on meditation explains this aspect of Buddhism better than most. My approach to life oscillates between "goal-setting positivism" and "if it's for me it won't go past me" and, while I can't see this changing, it does nudge me to re-establish my daily meditation practice. I also liked the chapters on Stocism and Death.

A self help book that will cause you to contemplate whether the self actually exists. A light-hearted exploration of alternatives to our pursuits of happiness.

Picked this up without knowing anything about it because I really enjoyed Forty Thousand Weeks. I enjoyed some of what I read (like the author's descriptions of the extremely American-sounding positivity conference) but I wasn't rushing to pick it up. Maybe I'll return to it at some point.

Enjoyed this much more than I expected - a good blend of psychology, philosophy and journalism, that also backs up what I've been reading recently on the principles of dialectical behaviour therapy.
