I really enjoyed this! He’s a very expressive talker so listening to this was really fun. He’s very funny and relatable and I enjoyed listening to his life experiences.

It was really nice to hear how awkward and anxious he is at times because I too am an awkward and anxious person who would probably also
not tell anyone my shirt caught on fire and deal with it on my own instead of letting anyone make a big deal out of it.

This was emotional at times and funny at times and there were a lot of essays that I really enjoyed.

Good grief, I loved this book and will devour whatever this man writes. Not only are these essays poignant and beautiful, but they are laugh-out-loud funny. I highlighted so much of this book and felt like I was sitting on the couch beside a friend while reading this. I was also entranced by the reverence he shows for books and libraries and learned a horrifying/fascinating fact about Black literature and the Dewey cataloguing system. I can't wait to reread this in the future.
