i love j daniels. there i said it. all i want is my least favorite book of this series. i think it is because of the tessa. look i know she is suppose to be damsel in distress, man eater, bossy type of character.

but somehow she made the whole.book crumble. i do not like her at all. she is very annoying. and luke.... he is lack of something. his past when it is reveal is just so so. not dramatic enough.

3 stars just because it is j. daniels.

I had some problems with this, but the biggest is the amount of slut-shaming directed at minor female characters, which is really weird when the hero is such a douchey manwhore himself.

Wow, this book was very emotional. Tessa and Luke had been together a year ago, but Luke was an a**hole, so they broke up. Now, in the present day, they see each other again and all the emotions are still there, but the love has shifted to hate…or anger, on Tessa’s part.

Luke didn’t want a future with Tessa, or at least, that’s what he made it seem like before they broke up. But when Tessa is trying to move on, he is upset about it and tries to keep her from dating or sleeping with another man. The problem is, he’s still an a**hole to Tessa and refuses to let her in.

These two go back and forth, constantly fighting throughout the whole book. But, Luke is pretty protective of Tessa and he does have his moments. I hated what he did to Tessa, and I could really feel her pain.

This book was very angsty and emotional. The spicy scenes were great, and the connection between Luke and Tessa was very noticeable. It was two people fighting against their feelings for each other because of their deeper internal wounds, but they eventually found healing with each other.

Oh gosh. Luke was a poor excuse of a man and I found him so awful to Tessa. I cannot deal with his comments and his actions towards her.

Tessaaaa. I had such high hopes for her. She was such a strong and feisty woman. She was so vocal when it came to fighting for what she believed in. But not with Luke. She became a shell of who she was. Tessa just didn't fight for herself.

Yeah. This was a disappointment and I'm probably going to just read Reed's story and call it. I love her Dirty Deeds series but this one didn't have the same oompf.

Tessa and Luke were together for a while last summer before a pregnancy scare tore them appart. Tessa realized she wanted something more than casual and was convinced Luke couldn't give it to her. A year later, neither one completely moved on and their frustration with each other pushes them to fight constantly. When Tessa decides to try dating again, can Luke watch from the sidelines without doing anything.

I really liked Luke's protectiveness and the way he reacted to Tessa's awful date. However, I'm starting to hate the hero gets laid a ton to forget the girl trope. Also, I just wanted to shake both of them until the very end and felt like the ending was a little anti-climactic. Their fighting toed the line between bickering and insulting each other and I hate reading two people just insulting each other. Loved the whole gang coming back and getting to know more about CJ and Reed.

This book was so fucking good! SO FUCKING GOOD!!!

Tessa is fresh off a breakup when she attends her brothers wedding and sees the one person she was hoping to avoid - Luke. He broke her heart and she’s just trying to get it back together. Luke wishes he could stop thinking about Tessa; since she ran out of his life three months ago it’s like she’s become ingrained into his mind. Can these two put their stubbornness behind them to work things out?

This is a second chance romance story that really takes you on a ride.

Tessa and Luke broke up a year ago but they both live in a small town and Luke is Tessa's brother's best friend and partner in the police department. Tessa broke up with Luke because he is closed off and when she asked him if he would ever want a family he said no. She felt he would never be able to love her. Luke was blindsided by the break-up and he still doesn't understand why she ended things.

Through the first half of this book Tessa and Luke hated each other, or more accurately were so angry with each other but both still loved each other. Tessa is outgoing and the life of the party, she has lots of friends and a great family. She is also very blunt and some of the things that came out of her mouth were hilarious! Luke has a past that haunts him and he doesn't want to let himself love anyone or let them in. That became the source of their problems, Tessa wants to be let in and Luke keeps her out.

There is a fine line between love and hate and Luke and Tessa walk that line through most of the book. Luke is so angry with her but can't help but want to protect her and be around her and I loved that. I loved his jealousy towards her as well. He thought he couldn't be with her but didn't want anyone else with her either. The spice between these two is excellent when they finally give in to their desire for each other.

I really liked the friend group, I liked the found family these group of friends had. I liked that they truly cared for each other and were there for each other.

Things just stay rocky between them through the book. These two really have to work for their happily ever after. I liked these two together so much, and I was rooting for them through the whole book.
