I don’t know what to say about this book other that it was just such a lovely read. A beautiful love story without being too ‘lovey’.

When I read the description for “The Flatshare” - two roommates whose opposing schedules mean they share a bed but never meet - I expected a quirky, charming rom-com that might keep me entertained on my commute for a week. What I did not expect was an emotionally deep and immersive novel filled with subplots that addressed criminal justice, abusive relationships, trauma, and recovery, in a nuanced, relatable way. ⁣

When I read stories from multiple points of view I often like one character’s chapters much more than others, but that was not the case at all with Tiffy and Leon! Their voices are so unique and both SO well written. It’s not a case of “two sides to the same story” as much as both characters having interesting lives and narratives of their own. I basically read this in two sittings and loved every second of it. All the stars for “The Flatshare!”
