4.5/5 on a re-read.

Even though this doesn't quite reach the level of the first one, it's still a pretty great book. The characters are drawn to perfection and I feel as though I am left with so much to think about and so many different layers that I hadn't really captured on my first read. The audiobook narrated by Tatiana Maslany is incredibly immersive and she does a fantastic job capturing exactly what I think Katniss sounds like. Can't wait to dive into the next book now (especially after that ending!), as I remember so very little about it.

i didn’t like this one as much as the first purely because i don’t like the love triangle. i understand the symbolism behind it, but i think it sometimes comes at the expense of the character development. because the love triangle took up so much of the first half, it really took me out. that being said the second half definitely redeemed it for me.

Enjoying rereading this series, once again Collins’ writing is great and introduces a vast array of likeable (and unlikeable) characters. Makes me excited to check out some of her other works.

Kylmät väreet useissa kohdissa! Olen nähnyt elokuvat muutamaan otteeseen, mutta kirjan lukemisesta on aikaa. Tämä toinen osa on todella kiihkeä ja nopeatempoinen. Olin ihan yllättynyt siitä, miten pieni osa siitä oli varsinaisesti Nälkäpeliä.
