Wow...I was not expecting this book to be about a futuristic society. I read it as a "blind date". I'm not normally into sci-fi, or futuristic stories, but this one was really good. Maybe because even though they were from another planet in the future, they travel back in time and get stuck there. It was a very good story line, and I thought the gradual falling in love between the two main characters was really sweet. Aella was much younger than Thomas, but they sure did seem to belong together. She was very innocent and a bit gullible, but I think Thomas really liked that about her. I would definitely recommend this book!

this wonderful fantasy romance follows the story of poverty stricken Aella as she tries to find work to afford life for her and the child she has taken on within the harsh environment of the racks, but her first day is not quite what she expected and when she wanders into the wrong area life for Aella changes drastically with no way back, after being thrown into a whole new life how will Aella survive?

This beautifully and masterfully written story completely transports the reader into the life of Aella whether that be in the futuristic but relatable land of T500 of historic "old earth", the authors master of the written word makes it so believable you are almost quite convinced you know precisely what it's like to live there as if the reader too had those memories.
The lack of description and detail over certain aspects whether that be over character looks or implied events only adds to the story to ensure the reader sees the world through Aella so you discover everything as she does.
Aella is one of the most endearing characters I've come across and she had me giggling with her and getting teary eyed at other times.
The story was brilliantly visual and engaged all the senses.
The only question I was left with at the end of this book was will there be another?
Amazing amazing book and I hope there is another so I can catch up with Aella as she continues her life because although you may see her as a fictional character, I got to know her through this book and she's more than just a 2 dimensional character on a piece of paper to me she's an exciting engaging brave girl who continues to struggle on bravely regardless of her situation.
A must read
