The worst book I have ever read. The sexism and racism just were not necesary, but there still was a lot of it. All the female characters were reduced to their appearance and did not have any other character traits. The other characters were also pretty flat, at least they seemed to be after the first 35 pages, which was when I dnfed the book because it annoyed me too much.

der roadtrip war schön, es gab wirklich ganze stellen und seiten, die ich am liebsten markiert hätte und ohne den haufen an diskriminierung auf jeder zweiten seite wäre das buch so viel bereichernder gewesen, aber das hier fast es ganz gut zusammen: 

„ich fand das buch nicht schlecht
ich mochte an sich, wie es geschrieben war, aber die geschichte wäre eindeutig genauso gut ausgekommen ohne die hunderttausend ableistischen, homophoben, rassistischen, fatphoben slurs und was weiß ich noch alles.
ich mochte den road trip an sich, ich mochte den tschick-reveal, auch wenn ich wirklich gerne noch erfahren hätte, wie es mit den beiden weitergeht. das ende war nicht ganz satisfying für mich, glaub ich.“ (nik)

why do these kind of authors always feel the need to make their main character unselfreflected assholes and then try to justify it by them being unpopular
