Pretty good take on the vampire story where vampires are no sparkling benefactors but evil or almost evil non dead beings that want to rule the whole town their own way. And if to do this they have to get the police under their control, they will.
Felt close to the protagonist, Claire Danvers, a new student at Collage being bullied by her dorm mates who has to take a decission to move out of campus if she wants to survive.
Loved all the Glass House inhabitants and I'm sure there's more to them than we have already discovered.

Eh, Glass Houses was a mildly interesting read – no obnoxious faults, but not terribly riveting either – and if you are going down the sci-fi/vampires/fantasy path, shouldn’t you be riveted?!??

A Claire Danvers la han adelantado un curso y ahora está en la Universidad de Morganville. Ser la típica niña lista la trae grandes problemas. Y donde hay alguien que tiene la palabra PÉGAME en la frente, siempre hay alguien que lo va a hacer. Éste personaje tan problemático se llama Mónica y no querréis estar en su punto de mira.
Después de un intento de asesinato en toda regla, Claire se ve obligada a abandonar las residencias de la Universidad y se topa con Eve, una curiosa chica gótica que la invita a su casa, la mansión Glass. Entonces, decide instalarse en ella con sus tres compañeros de piso: Eve, gótica hasta no poder más, Shane un chico realmente guapo y sarcástico y Michael, el más peculiar de todos. Él solo se deja ver por la casa después del atardecer.
Bajo la protección de la mansión Glass, Claire ya puede respirar tranquila. Mónica ya no la puede intentar matar, los estudios la van realmente genial, pero Morgaanville y sus curiosas normas no son para nada geniales. No salgas por la noche. Bueno, no salgas si no quieres morir, claro está.
Después de ese gran boom producido por Meyer y sus vampiros vegetarianos brillantes, nunca pensé que volvería a leer una novela de vampiros tan espectacular. Aquí los vampiros han pasado de ser los buenos a ser esos que te producen pesadillas por la noche. Por fin ejercen de lo que deberían ejercer, de vampiros malvados y sanguinarios.
Cuando acabes la historia te garantizo que querrás coger la segunda parte. Es algo fresco, innovador y por fin recuperamos nuestros amados vampiros sanguinarios asesinos. Y cogerás tanto cariño a los personajes que habrá momentos que deseareis agarrarles de los pelos por sus acciones y elecciones.
Una cosa que quiero destacar. ¿Alguien hace una colecta para comprarle a Claire un curso de primeros auxilios? Si os fijáis, en el libro no para de tener heridas y fracturas. Y he decidido llamar a Claire La Pupas, así entre la pandi.

Considering this book is about a highly intelligent teenager in a college setting, the language in this book is incredibly negative toward female intelligence and education. While Claire is supposed to be overly smart, Caine chooses to instead present her as incredibly ignorant and more interested in "hot boys" than her education, which she apparently begged her parents to pursue. Why can't a girl be both smart and interested in relationships and sex?
Shame on Rachel Caine for writing this garbage. It is a terrible representation of being a bright young person, college experience, and adult behavior.
The above overshadows the interesting content in this book so strongly, I can't imagine how it'd be acceptable to anyone.

Está bien, es entretenido y bastante original para tratarse del género vampiro. Oliver no me gustó desde el primer momento, y al final mis sospechas fueron buenas. Y el libro? Me parece genial! En un libro metes un libro ^^ Me encantó esa parte. Llamadme freaking smart (si, right now xD) pero me identifico totalmente con Claire. Pobre chica, espero que su espalda se recupere de la quemadura.
